This take on a wild rice pudding recipe from Indonesia, pulut hitam, will change the first meal of the day for you forever. 1 cup Simply Native Wild Rice Hot Cereal
3 tbsp. sugar (or to taste)
5 cups water
1 cup coconut milk with plus 1/2 tsp salt mixed in
Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Add the rice, cover and boil on medium-low heat for 45-60 minutes, until the rice becomes soft. Make sure to check the water level as the rice boils – if the rice becomes too dry, add some more water.
Add the sugar to taste and serve. Top with a spoonful of coconut milk, or more if you prefer the rice creamier. Then dig in!
