Chicken wings are a classic summertime party food. But let’s face it, they can be kind of a drag to make, and sometimes you want that delish grilled flavor without all the work. Luckily, we found the perfect shortcut. All the smoky yummy taste you want, with half the work – just in time for Father’s Day. How much more convincing do you need? Here’s what you’ll need:
-2 lbs chicken wings
-1 1/2 cups of your favorite root beer
-1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
-2 tbsp of brown sugar
Here’s what to do:
Put chicken wings in a slow cooker. Pour 1/2 cup of bbq sauce over wings. Pour 12oz of root beer into slow cooker.
Stir, cover, and cook on high for 2-2 1/2 hrs. Give a quick stir every 30-45 mins.
Remove wings from slow cooker and set on plate to drain. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Place wings on a baking sheet. Using the other 1/2 cup of the bbq sauce, brush each wing with sauce. Sprinkle each wing with brown sugar.
Flip each wing and repeat steps 7 and 8. Bake for 10mins. Plate and serve!
