1. Those Little Bottles? Not Just For Shampoo
Fill them with stuff like olive oil, your fave brand of salad dressing or whatever other liquid you like on your food at home.
2. Your Hotel Coffeemaker Does So Much More
Like make eggs! And rice! Just add the food to the coffee pot and fill the reservoir with water. 30 minutes for hard boiled eggs, 10 minutes for 1/2 cup of rice.
3. Need To Chill Out? Freeze A Sponge
No, really. Need to keep food cool without those ice packs that TSA hates? Freeze a sponge filled with water inside a Ziploc bag. Boom.
4. Have Tea Time On The Plane
Let’s admit it, drink options mid-flight are pretty bare. Next time, bring plastic baggies with your faves onto the flight. They’re not liquid so TSA won’t care, and all you have to do is ask for hot water!
5. End The Eating-While-Driving Madness – Easily
Let’s face it – there are never enough cupholders in your car, especially within reach. And where do you even put food that isn’t like, crackers? Next time, try a shampoo holder – it’s the perfect size for holding a drink or even a sandwich without things getting messy.
6. Protect What Really Matters: The Wine
Bought a fancy bottle in Europe? Remember how much checked luggage gets tossed around in transit. Instead of just place int bottle in with your clothes, wrap it in a towel or a pool floatie.
7. Avoid The Tourist Food Traps
Sure, it’s easy to go on Yelp and look up the highest-rated restaurants. Or you could take advantage of what the locals say. This is one of thos travel hacks that is really just part of the culture. Apps like Spotted by Locals will tell you the most-recommended spots to eat according to real locals
8. Stock Up On Breakfast
This one will pay for itself 10 times over. Spring for a hotel with a great breakfast, and then load up on, fruit, baked goods, cereals – anything that will keep, and bring it with you! You’ll save a ton on food later on.
