Let’s face it: Everyone could use more energy at work. Sometimes it seems like those long afternoons will never end, am I right? It happens to everyone. So what do you do? Don’t just give up and fall victim to the “hide behind your monitor and nap” syndrome – there are plenty of quick and easy methods to boost energy at the office and get you back to work in no time.
1. Get Moving
Taking a quick walk around the block (or even just around your office) to break up your routine and get your muscles moving will get your mind off work and refresh you.
2. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

Most of the time, feeling low-energy or sleepy at work is an indication of dehydration. So before you load up on more coffee, drink a big glass of water. You might be surprised how much it helps!
3. Get On Your Feet

If you really stop and think about how much time you spend sitting at your desk at the office, it might terrify you. So mix it up – try working while standing for a while, or even go work at a different area of your office.
4. Step Away From Your Desk For Lunch

You’re busy. We get it. But you’re not so busy that you can’t be allowed a lunch break! No matter how stressed you are, take at least a half hour to eat, AWAY from your desk. Even better? Join a few colleagues and get your mind off work for a little while.
5. Give Yourself An Internet Break
Sometimes you just need a laugh. Luckily, most of us use the Internet at work at some point in the day, and finding a cute cat video is literally seconds away. After hours of intense working, no one will fault you for taking two minutes to watch a cute video. Especially if it gives you a little mood and energy boost to get through the rest of the day.
6. Grab A Workout At Lunch
Sure, this doesn’t work for everyone. But similar to the idea of walking around the office, if you have time to actually squeeze in some exercise during a break, you’ll be amazed by what it can do for your energy. You’d think working out would LOWER your energy, and sure you might be more physically tired, but the endorphins are sure to get your brain going.
7. Meditate

You can’t meditate during the workday, you might say – there’s no time! And no place! That’s where you’re wrong. Some simple methods can help you meditate anywhere, even on the subway. You’d be surprised how much it’ll clear your mind and help get you back on track.
8. Turn Up Your Favorite Song
Who among us listens to Spotify or Pandora, or some similar music streaming service? Yeah, we thought so. And while you might have some go-to “focus” playlists for concentrating, try blasting your new favorite jam every once in a while. It’ll cheer you up and make the workday seem just a little bit less endless.
9. Keep Your Eyes Fresh
We stare at screens all day – often for work. And it starts to show. We all probably get the feeling that our eyes are tired at some point during the day, and that makes us feel tired all around. Try this simple exercise to keep your eyes focused and fresh: After every 20 minutes of working, take a break for at least 20 seconds and look at objects that are 20 feet away from you. Sounds simple enough, right? You’ll be amazed at the difference.
10. Grab A Power-Up Snack
Skip that eighth cup of coffee, and instead reach for a snack that’s packed full of protein and energy that will get your energy back up in a healthier (and probably more delicious) way.
